Leapfrog Hydro 1.8.0 release

FEFLOW grid performance

Import, export and extrusion operations for FEFLOW grids have been optimised for speed. They now run significantly faster.

Value transformations in interpolants

Users can perform a pre-transform clip of the data used in their interpolants (numeric models) and apply a logarithmic transformation if required

New application theme

Leapfrog Hydro 1.8 has a new look, including a convenient “projects” tab at startup.

Contacts from non-base lithologies

When creating a surface in a geological model the user may now choose the option “From Other Contacts.” Contacts from imported or internally generated (groups, splits or interval selection) interval columns other than the base column of the geological model, may be then used to generate a surface in the model.

Improved visualisation of clipped surface

Surface edges in a geological model now appear smoother when displayed as clipped.

Evaluation of geology on points

Users may evaluate any number of geological models on point locations. These evaluations can be  viewed and exported.

Merged table

A merged table allows the user create an interval table from multiple interval columns. The new from/to intervals are of a size that will capture the smallest intervals from across all selected input columns.

Multi-resolution isosurfacing

User can choose to create an “adaptive resolution” mesh for topography. This will minimise the number of triangles required to accurately represent the topography.

Smooth slicer transitions for videos

Transitioning in Leapfrog movies now supports the smooth sliding of a slicer from one position to another between scenes.

Minimum distance between objects

The ruler can be set to the minimum distance between two objects in the scene. This function supports tables, boreholes and points.

Balanced tangent desurveying

Query filters and colour maps can now be used when displaying imported date information associated with borehole and location data.

Balanced tangent desurveying

Users may choose the balanced tangent desurveying option for compatibility with other software packages including Minesight and Vulcan. This option is available from the compatibility tab of the borehole survey table.

Create a simple fault model - FEFLOW

Often, you may have a detailed geological model available that needs to be used together with a larger regional model. It's now straightforward to combine these models for use in FEFLOW.

Stratigraphic modelling tool

This exciting new tool can directly model stratigraphic layered geologies. Simply set the chronology to produce models of conformally-layered lithologies.

Contact point honouring

Surfaces created in a geological model now support contact point honouring.

Polyline folder

This release includes a new folder for importing and creating polylines. In the past, polylines could only be added to the project as an input to an object such as a boundary or fault.  Now polylines may be created at will, or imported from file directly into the polyline folder.

Special values

Most assay data includes values such as "< 0.01" or "-9999" for drilling intervals with special meaning.  Leapfrog Hydro now supports the configuration of such values on a column-by-column basis for numeric drilling data.

Extract mesh parts

Surfaces within a geological model now expose the Extract Mesh Parts workflow for exporting the resultant mesh directly to the Meshes project folder.

Project GIS lines

Users may set the elevation of GIS lines by projecting them vertically onto any mesh. This method has a number of useful applications, such as fixing the intersection of two geological surfaces.

Vector offset for imported meshes

Imported meshes may now be re-positioned with a simple vector offset. The function is available on the 'open' dialog for imported mesh objects.

Extract mesh vertices

Mesh objects now include a function which allows the user to extract the vertices into the Locations folder.  This essentially enables meshes to be resized and resampled.

Extract points from interval data

Users may now extract volume and contact points directly from drilling data into the Locations folder.

Flexible borehole labelling

Users may now choose to display text labels from multiple data columns in the scene.
